About

"I enjoy working with Brett because he takes a holistic approach to helping me achieve my goals. He has a lot of knowledge in many different areas related to fitness and wellbeing and uses that knowledge to keep my training sessions fresh, challenging and specifically tailored to my needs. Brett is also a great listener and motivator."

 Brett Mehlman: E-RYT, LMT, ACSM-CPT

Brett began his journey into integrated health and wellness back in his mid teens, through the struggles of being overweight. Deciding it was time for a lifestyle change, he trained himself in weightlifting, studied human anatomy, and started working as a personal trainer from college onward.

Following a near-death experience that required major abdominal surgery to restore him, Brett was instead left with a destroyed core and musculoskeletal dysfunction. When multiple visits to physical therapists and chiropractors failed to provide any substantial solutions, he sought relief from chronic pain through holistic medicinal approaches; including yoga and massage therapy. From that point moving forward, his life was forever changed. The more he practiced and explored alternative health disciplines alongside traditional Western medicine, the stronger he healed, both physically and mentally.

Now, as a certified massage therapist, holistic wellness coach, and Yoga Alliance 200-Hour Instructor (E-RYT) with nearly a decade’s worth of teaching experience, Brett empowers his students and clients to cultivate balance and happiness in their daily lives.

Drawing inspiration from both Eastern and Western traditions, as well as personal life lessons, Brett firmly believes in the power of mindful discipline. Strict, yet approachable, his teachings connect structural alignment to overall body awareness. Those that work closely with Brett know that, as an action-oriented leader, he is truly dedicated to helping people reach their fullest potential.

"I am 71 years old and want to give Brett high remarks for his patience and encouragement as a trainer. I was athletic when I was younger but never exercised as I got older. I have been working with Brett for almost a year and he has designed a workout routine that is meant just for my needs and ability. He is good to push you, but is careful if you tell him a certain exercise is not comfortable. He will work through it with you so you adapt to a similar exercise. I highly recommend Brett if you are looking for a trainer who is highly skilled and experienced, plus has the personality to always give you positive feedback throughout your session."

Mission:

Body, Mind, Health, and Harmony. These are the concepts that Tuneus stands by. Essentially, to tune into one’s inner nature in connection with the rest of the outside world.

By thoroughly combining methods from a variety of health disciplines – including yoga, massage therapy, pilates, reflexology, and meditation – our mission is to assist each individual in achieving overall vitality. This is where Tuneus comes into play as the key ingredient. Tuning the body to attain proper anatomical alignment in turn, tunes the mind to achieve happiness.

Just as important as tuning the mind and body to balance one another, we believe it is equally important to become in tune with nature. As human beings we are biologically connected to the environment. A form of therapy in and of itself, nature is a human necessity, and immersing in it allows for restoring optimal health.

Keeping these overarching concepts of Tuneus in mind, we make our integrated health methods vigorous, yet approachable. No matter what background or personal life experiences you’ve endured, we aim to provide you with the educational training tools for cultivating everlasting joy; in relationship to your own body and mind, and in relationship to those around you.
